About the Nightline service

The Nightline service in Southampton is a voluntary group affiliated with Southampton University Students' Union and the National Nightline Association. Our phone lines are staffed from 8pm to 8am during term time.

Nightline is essentially what you make it, but it is designed to serve the following purposes:

Information service

We can provide information on a wide range of local services, from bus times to pizza numbers, the local club scene to emergency contraception. Of course we have our limitations, but if we don't know something, we may just have the telephone number of someone who does.

Listening service

Everyone faces a multitude of problems in their daily (student) life. Sometimes it helps to talk over these problems, however large or small. At Nightline we offer a confidential listening service available to discuss the issues you raise. Finally, we're there if you just want a chat!
